The Health Benefits of Beautiful Skin with Dr. Jill Waibel

beautiful skinWe all want to have beautiful skin. But rarely do you find such an important element of overall health and wellness that also plays a direct and important role in overall appearance. The skin represents a healthcare dichotomy because our natural inclination is to focus solely on how we and others look at our external appearance. And so it’s natural that we think about our skin from an aesthetic perspective alone. After all, our skin’s appearance is a major element in how we project and feel about ourselves , so we take care of it from that perspective. Yet having “beautiful skin” really transcends image as it also plays an important role in our overall health. The largest organ in the human body, our skin is a critical barrier and protector from the outside world.

Given the complexity of aesthetic and health issues that are related to the health of our skin, we are delving deeply into this topic as part of our year-long “Be Your Best 365″ series. In this engaging interview, be Co-Founder and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Gregory A. Buford speaks with Internationally Acclaimed Dermatologist, Dr. Jill Waibel on what our skin says about ourselves and our health, as well as simple steps we can take to have healthy and beautiful skin. Dr. Waibel has appeared regularly on The Today Show and ABC News, as well as being featured in magazines including People and Glamour. In this be Expert Interview, Dr. Buford and Dr. Waibel discuss:

    Dr. Buford,

As a sales manager in the Aesthetics market and working with Garth Fisher, M.D in Beverly Hills; I have seen and been exposed to marketing, sales, and how information is delivered to patients internally and externally.

It it very refreshing to see the level of involvement and education you provide to the community and consumer, along with other experts. I feel strongly and am very passionate about “patient education” providing knowledge and consumer confidence so patients understand their choices.
